Just wanted to say thanks for working at bible camp that summer.
All the other kids, they had parents and friends and new sandels each summer. I don't know why you picked me, I didn't have any of these, but thank you.
Thank you for squeezing me and telling the boy in the blue shirt, the one who touched your waist when he thought noone was watching, that I was your favorite.
Thank you for drawing out my name in bubbly letters, each swelling form colored in carefully.
I learned to draw my own after you left. After you drove away in the big blue bus, whispering I'll see you next year.
